Dear Dad,

I am writing this note to find out, first, if you are still living at "Sunnyside". I heard some time ago that you were, but I have seen none of our mutual friends for a long time.

When I get in touch with you I have a letter to send you which I received from England some time ago and mislaid. It turned up yesterday. It concerns a copy of "Ginger Mick" which has come into the hands of an English major who wishes to return it to the rightful owner. The copy bears your signature.
