Letter by CJD to J.G. Roberts 1918.02.13
Toolangi,
Victoria
Feb 13th 1918
Dear Dad,
I have just heard from Bob Croll that Bert has meet with a severe accident.
I am damned sorry to hear of it, and I really hope it is not so serious as
Bob's letter seems to indicate.
Bob tells me that Bert is standing it marvellously. I hope the poor old boy
isn't too hard hit. Please let him know that I am very grieved about it.
With kind regards to all.
Yours,
Den

Note:
"Bert" was a close male relative of Roberts's - probably a son or brother. He had had part of a hand amputated in an
accident.
